Babusar Pass Trek (Trekking in Kaghan)

From Chilas to Naran

Zone Level Maximum Height Month Duration
Open Easy 2800 m July-Sept 5 Days

Both the Babusar Valley and the Butogah Valley are wide, fertile, and green and wooded – though as elsewhere trees are being cut with no apparent effort to replant. The walk is relatively easy (if snow has melted), taking you up through what is left of the pine forest and across pastures to the flat, stony top of the past. Views are of rolling hills covered in yellow ragwort, pink bistort, blue monkshood, blue delphiniums, edelweiss and countless other flowers reaching to distant white peaks. To see Nanga Parbat one must hike couple of kilometers east along the ridge from the top of the pass.
